Appropriate preposition এর ব্যবহার,  Appropriate preposition কাকে বল?


Appropriate Prepostition কাকে বলে?

ইংরেজি বাগধারা বা idiom অনুযায়ী Word(Noun,Adjective,verb ও Participle এর পরে বিশেষ বিশেষ proposition বসে। এই preposition গুলোতে Appropriate preposition বলে। কোন কোন ক্ষেত্রে এগুলোর ব্যবহারে বিভিন্নতা লক্ষ করা যায়।
প্রিয় শিক্ষাথীবৃন্দ কোন শব্দের পরে কোন preposition বসেছে ভালোভাবে এ Chapter dt খেয়াল কর এবং অর্থের তাৎপয বোঝার চেষ্টা কর। তোমাদের সুবিধার্থে নিচে Appropriate preposition এর কতিপয় গুরুত্বপূর্ণ উদাহরণ দেয়া হলোঃ

Appropriate preposition এর ব্যবহার (  A দিয়ে)

Abound in(প্রচুর পরিমাণে থাকা)ঃFish abounds with river.
Abound with (পূর্ণ থাকা):This pond abounds with fishes.
Abside from (বিরত থাকা): You should abstain from telling lies.
Abide in (বাস করা): They abide in London.
Abide by (মেনে চলা): You should abide by the rules of the state.
Abide with (সঙ্গে থাকা): He abides with his father.
Absent of (অন্যমনস্ক): He is absent of mind.
Accede to (রাজী হওয়া): He acceded to my proposal.
Accuse of (অভিযোগ করা): He is accused of gambling.
Account to (কাহারো কাছে কৈফিয়ত দেয়া): You are to accont to your superior.
Account for (কোন কিছুর জন্য কৈফিয়ত দেয়া): We must account for our wrong deeds to God.
Acquit of (বেকসুর খালাস দেয়া): The police has been acquitted of the charge of corruption.
Accesss to (প্রবেশাধিকার): We have easy access to the principal.
Accomplished in (দক্ষ): He was not accomplished in tailoring.
Accountable to (কারো কাছে কোন কিছুর জন্য দায়ী): We are accountable to our future generation.
Accustomed to (অভ্যস্ত): He is accustomed to rise earlier.
Accompanied by (সাথে নিয়ে):He was accompanied by his wife.
According to (অনুসারে): Cut your coat according to your clothes.
Acquainted with (পরিচিত): I am not acquainted with the gentleman.
Adhere to (লেগে থাকা): one must adhere to one’s ideology.
Admit to (ভর্তি হওয়া): He was admitted to Dhaka College.
Adapted for উপযোগী): She was not adapted from paradise Lost .
Adapted from( গৃহীত): The poem is adapted frm Paradise Lost.
Adequate to (পযাপ্ত): This will not be adequate to our demand.
Addicted to (খারাপ কাজে আসক্ত): He was adequate to our demand.
Adjacent (সংলগ্ন): The mosque is adjacent to the school building.
Addiction to (মন্দ কাজে আসক্তি): I don’t have any addiction to smoking.
Abhorrence of (ঘৃণা): It is abhorrent to me.
Absence from: (অনুপস্হিতি): His continuous absence from the office is the cause of his dismissal.
Absent from (অনুপস্হিতি):He was absent from the school yesterday.
Absorbed in (নিমগ্ন): She was absorbed in love making.
Afraid to (ভীত): We are not afraid of wars.
Affectionate to (স্নেহপূর্ণ): The boy was affectionat to all.
Angry with (কারো সাথে কোন কিছুর জন্য রাগান্বিত ): Do not be angry with your mother.
Antidont for or against (প্রতিষেধক): He has taken injection as an antilote for dengue.
Anxious about (চিন্তিত): The mother is always anxious about her son’s result.
Apologise to (কারো কাছে ক্ষমা চাওয়া): The students have apologized to the teacher.
Apologise to (কোন কিছুর জন্য ক্ষমা চাওয়া): He has apologized for his past deeds.
Apology for (ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা): He does not have any apology for his behavior.
Aware of (অবগত): You should be aware of your responsibility.

Bar of (বাধা): Illiteracy is the bar of development.
Bask in (রৌদ্র পোহান): The people basked in the sun.
Bark at(ঘেউ ঘেউ করা ): The dog barks at any strangher.
Based on(ভিওির উপর প্রতিষ্ঠিত ): The idea is based on his previous experience.
Beg of (প্রার্থনা করা): I beg of your pardon.
Beg for (প্রার্থনা করা): He is begging for alms.
Born in (জন্ন): He was born in a poor family.
Born to (জন্ন দেয়া): twin baby was born to the poor lady.
Born of (জাতি):He was born of middle class family.
Burst out (হাসিতে ফেটে পড়া):They burst out in joy.
Burst into(কান্নায় ভেঙ্ড়ে পড়া): The poor lady bursts into tears.
Beware of (সতর্ক হওয়া): Beware of dogs.
Boast of দম্ভ করা: Don’t boast of your knowledge.
Bereft of (বঞ্চিত):They are bereft of education.
Burdened with(ভারাক্রান্ত): The boy is burdened with a large family.
Busy at (ব্যস্ত): He is busy at his work.

Appropriate preposition এর ব্যবহার (  C দিয়ে)

Care of (যত্ন): Take care of your health.
Care for (গ্রাহ্য করা): I don’t care for his order.
Cause of কারণ: This is not the cause of his order.
Cause for (কারণ,ভবিষ্যৎ ঘটনার জন্য): There is no cause for his suspension.
Cautious of (সতর্ক): He is always cautious of his son’s progress.
Caution against সাবধান): You should take proper caution against your enemy.
Comply with (প্রতিযোগিতা করা): I shall competent with others for the post.
Complement on (প্রশংসা করা): They will complaited against the boy.
Complain against (অভিযোগ করা ): He has complained against the boy.
Composed of (গঠিত): It is composed of water and sugar.
Consist of (গঠিত): The team consists of eleven players.
Consist in (নিহিত হওয়া): Happiness consists in honest life.
Consistent with সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ): Your words are not consistent with your deeds.
Converse with (আলাপ –আলোচনা করা): Converse with him regarding the matter.
Conceal from (লুকানো): You should not connive it from your mother.
Connive at (উপেক্ষা করা): You should not connive at at your son’s tault.
Cope with (এটে উঠা):He could not cope With this new situation.
Credit to (জমা করা): Credit the is fully cured of his disease.
Crave for of after (বাসনা করা ): He always craves for money.

Down on (প্রতিভাত হওয়া): The truth downed on him in the long run.
Deal with (ব্যবহার করা): He did not deal properly with me.
Deal in (ব্যবসা করা):He did not deal properly with me.
Defent from (রক্ষা করা): We should defend ourselves from evil temptation.
Deliver to (দেয়া): He has delivered the letter to the man 
Demand for (দাবি করা): I have not demanded for it.
Deprived of (বঞ্চিত): They were deprived of higher education.
Depend upon নির্ভর করা): I cannot depend upon his words.
Dependent on (নির্ভরশীল): All the members of the family are dependent on him.
Despair of(হতাশা হওয়া): He is despaired of success.
Desirous of আকাঙ্ক্ষী): We are despaired of success.
Desire for of (আকাঙ্ক্ষা): My father had no desire for wealth.

Dwell in (বাস করা): He dwells in Dhaka.
Dwell upon (আলোচনা করা): The businessman dwell upon the market price.
Due to (কারণ বা প্রাণ্য): He got the first prize due to his sincerity.
Duty to (কর্তব্য): You should do your duty to your meighour.

Eager for (উৎসুক): The students were eager for their result.
Enquire of/about(খোঁজ করা): He enquired  of his resut.
Escape from (মুক্তি): Qe have no escape form death.

Appropriate preposition এর ব্যবহার (  F দিয়ে)

Familiar with (ঘনিষ্ট): He was not familiar with me.
Feed on (খেয়ে বাচা):We feed on rice.
Fear for আতক্ক): You shoud fear for difficult life.
Fear of (ভয়): There is fear of tiger in Sundarbans.
Fond of (প্রিয়): We are fond of rice.
Fondness of পছন্দ): He has fondness of biriani.
Forgetful of (ভুলে যাওয়া): We are forgetful of our past.
Foreign to (অজ্ঞাত): Everythin he said is foreign to me.
Fix to (লাগান): Fix the picture to the wall.
Fit for (উপযুক্ত): She was fit for this drama.
Fire at/into/upon (গুলি করা): He fired at the tiger.
Fire away at (অবিরাম গুলি করা): The soldiers are firing away at the enemy.
Filled with (পূর্ণ): The post is filled with water.
Free of (ব্যতীত): It is free of cost.
Free from (মুক্ত): We are now free from evemies.
Fruitfull in (সমৃদ্ধ): They are fruitful in minereal resources.
Frown in/at (ভ্রকুটি করা): She frowned at the boy.
Furnish with (সজ্জিত): The room is furnished with luzurious furniture.
Full of (পরিপূর্ণ): The glass is full of milk.

Appropriate preposition এর ব্যবহার (  G, H, I দিয়ে)

Glory in (গর্ব অনুভব করা): There is no glory in this success.
Glance at (তাকানো): She glanced at me.
Gatred of/for (ঘৃণা): She has no hatred for him.
Hanker after(লালায়িত হওয়া): We should not hanker after momentary pleasure.
Hail from (আসা): He hailed from Dhaka.
Immersed in (নিমজ্জিত): He has already immersed in debt.
Inherent in (সহজাত)This quality is inherent to the boy.
Innocent of নির্দোষ):He is innocent of the charge.

Judge by (বিচার করা): Don’t judge anything by its appearance.
Kind to (দয়ালু): He was very kind to the poor.
Key to (চাবিকাঠি): Industry is the key to success.
Lavish of (অমিতব্যয়ী): Mr Khan is lavish of money.
Lack of (অভাব): He has lack of knowledge.
Long for (প্রতাশা করা): He never longs for money.
Match for (তুলনীয়): She has no match for Rahima.
Marry to (বিবাহ করা): She is married to a rich man.
Mourn for (শোক করা ): They were mourning for the death of their leader

Open to (উন্নুক্ত): The function was open to all.
Part with (কোন বস্তু ত্যাগ করা): I could not part with him.

Play with (হেলা খেলা করা): Don’t play with the final match.
Play at (হেলা করা): They were playin at football.
Pretend to (ভান করা): He pretended to be honest.
Prevent from (বিরত করা): He prevented me from going there.

Safe from (মুক্ত): He is safe from all dangers.
Satisfaction in (সন্তোষ): He feels satisfaction in the condition of this business.
Satisfie with (সন্তুষ্ট ): The chairman was satisfied with all the officers.
Stick to (লেগে থাকা): He will stick to his ideology.
State at (এক দৃষ্টিতে তাকিয়ে থাকা):He stared at the beautiful girl.
Startle at (আশ্চযান্বিত): I was startled at the sight of Sylhet.
Solicit for (আবেদন করা): We solicited the authority for a loan.
Slow at (মন্হর): He is slow at his office work.
Taste for (পছন্দ): I find no taste for it.
Taste of (স্বাদ ): He has got the taste of the food.
